Oil Blends for the OCM (Oil Cleansing Method) Infographic Courtesy of http://bit.ly/oilcleansing |
Considered a highly effective beauty treatment when used on a regular basis, a blend of two or more high quality oils is gently massaged into the skin of the face and neck for several minutes.
Thereafter, a hot (but not scalding) damp washcloth is used to remove the excess oil by wiping it off. There are several variations of the method itself, including using a warm damp washcloth to apply the oil and covering the face and neck with a hot washcloth for a few seconds before gently rubbing the oil off.
As for the oils that can be used, this can be highly personalized depending on individual skin type and preferences. As this infographic illustrates, the most simplest OCM blends consist of a certain percentage of castor oil (or hazelnut oil which may work well for normal to dry skin), with the remaining percentage consisting of one or more "carrier" oils. The carrier oils include:
Sweet Almond Oil (for normal to oily skin)
Avocado Oil (for normal to dry skin)
Jojoba Oil (for acne prone skin)
Olive Oil (for normal to dry skin)
Sunflower Oil (for normal skin)
